Overview 

Responsible for the provision of nursing care as established by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the RPN competencies of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the standards of nursing care of this hospital.

 

Education 

- Registered Practical Nursing diploma with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Medication Administration Certificate (or obtained at least 18 months prior to posting date).
- Recent education in Geriatric Care, preferred.
- Completion of RPN assessment course, required.
- Current BLS certification is required.

- Must be prepared to work in all areas of the Medicine Health Service.
- Maintains competence relative to current practices.
- Demonstrates expertise in Gerontology theories and practice.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.
- Motivated to pursue educational goals.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrates excellent observational skills.
- Demonstrates superior organizational skills.
- Good work and attendance record required.
