OVERVIEW

The Registered Nurse in the clinic coordinates and directs patient care in compliance with the standards of nursing practice.

 

EDUCATION

- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS required.
- BScN preferred.
 


QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 2 years medical experience required.
- 3-5 years Emergency department experience preferred.
- Telephone triage experience, knowledge of patient care processes and technical troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of Diabetes Education, Endocrine and Hepatic Assessment.
- Demonstrate current attendance at continuing education programs related to the nursing field.
- Knowledge of immuno-compromised patient teaching preferred.
- Perform venipuncture and IV starts.
- Ability to perform ECGs.
- Perform wound assessment and wound care.
- Previous knowledge and experience working with infectious diseases and immunology patients preferred.
- Previous Ambulatory Care experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well organized, with demonstrated ability to problem solve independently.
- Ability to work well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Good work and attendance record required.
