Student Accountant

OVERVIEW

-  Research and summarize Finance Payroll processes
-  Plan and conduct interviews and focus groups with Departments to understand challenges related to Finance and summarize findings
-  Review and update or document Finance policies and procedures inthe following areas – Accounts Payable, Corporate Finance, Capital Assets and Corporate Finance with focus being on identifying gaps in revenue streams and other control points
-  Create Microsoft Access queries of the current legacy system and summarize findings
-  Other projects and tasks as required 

EDUCATION

-  Enrollment in University level courses in Accounting or Economics with additional courses in Math or Technology

QUALIFICATIONS

-  Strong analytical skills
-  Strong problem solving skills 
-  Experience in creative writing, school newspaper or equivalent
-  Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)
-  Ability to lead group discussions and present information in group settings 
-  Strong verbal and written communication skills
-  Experience with research and information gathering with the ability to summarize information gathered and document clearly and concisely 
-  Ability to work within a team as a leader and/or team member
