OVERVIEW

Responsible and accountable to the Manager of Interprofessional Practice for the provision of advanced respiratory care as established by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario and  the standards of respiratory care of this hospital. You will be given the opportunity to provide excellent care in an interdisciplinary team setting.

EDUCATION

-  Current license with the College of Respiratory Therapy of Ontario
-  Pulmonary Function certificate an asset
-  CSRT/RTSO affiliation preferred
-  Certified Asthma/Respiratory educator preferred

EXPERIENCE
-  Knowledge and ability to conduct various Pulmonary Function testing procedures including adult and pediatric populations required
-  Ability to manage a variety of invasive  and non-invasive ventilation modalities
-  BCLS required, ACLS/PALS an asset
-  Demonstrated ability to function effectively in an interdisciplinary team
-  Demonstrates knowledge of patient focused care principles
-  Good communication and problem solving skills, organizational ability
-  Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning
-  Excellent time management skills
-  Ability to work well independently
-  Computer skills (familiarity with Power Chart and Microsoft applications)
-Ability to participate in professional, program, and hospital planning, implementation and evaluation of  services
-  Ability to participate in education to respiratory therapy and other health professionals, students,
patients  and families
-  Demonstrated ability to welcome change and manage it innovatively
-  Flexibility and willingness to work in all patient care areas (skills and abilities considered).
-  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-  Motivated to practice in accordance withthe mission and vision of hospital/health service
-  Excellent work and attendance record required
